Professional Shadowing & Learning Opportunities

Learn From Our Practice

We offer professionals the opportunity to visit, observe and shadow our setting for the day, gaining first-hand insight into how we work, why we work the way we do, and how our methods support children and families.

This experience is designed for those who want to learn through observation, reflection, and discussion, rather than theory alone.

Who This Is For

Our professional shadowing days are suitable for:

  • Educators and teachers
  • SEN and inclusion professionals
  • Wellbeing, pastoral and family support workers
  • Students and trainees in education or child-focused roles
  • Organisations exploring alternative or flexible education models

Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding, explore new approaches, or see a working model in practice, this opportunity offers valuable professional insight.

What You Will Experience

During your shadowing day, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Observe our daily structure and routines

  • See how we balance flexibility with consistency

  • Understand how we support individual learning needs

  • Explore our approaches to wellbeing, regulation, and engagement

  • Learn how we create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment

  • Ask questions and discuss our decision-making and methods

We focus on real practice, not staged demonstrations. What you see reflects our authentic day-to-day work.

Our Approach

Our work is grounded in:

  • Child-centred and relationship-led practice

  • Respect for individual needs, pace, and interests

  • A strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing and safety

  • Flexible education principles and inclusive values

We believe that meaningful learning happens when children feel safe, understood, and supported, and our methods reflect this throughout the day.

What Shadowing Is — and Is Not

To ensure clarity and safety for everyone involved:

Shadowing is:

  • Observational and reflective
  • Non-evaluative
  • Focused on learning and professional development

Shadowing is not:

  • A training placement
  • A supervision or assessment opportunity
  • A childcare or hands-on role
  • A substitute teaching experience

Visitors are not expected to lead sessions or work directly with children.

What You Will Take Away

By the end of your visit, you can expect to leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of how our model works in practice
  • Insight into flexible and alternative education approaches
  • Practical ideas you can reflect on and adapt within your own role
  • Increased confidence in supporting children in diverse ways

Safeguarding & Professional Boundaries

The safety and wellbeing of the children we work with is our highest priority.

All visitors must:

  • Adhere to our safeguarding and confidentiality policies
  • Respect professional boundaries at all times
  • Follow staff guidance while on site
  • Refrain from photography, recording, or sharing identifying information

You will be asked to provide relevant professional identification or documentation prior to your visit including all relevant enhanced DBS checks.
